At Orbea, we work every day to offer the highest quality in our bicycles. For this reason, we make the following warranty and coverage conditions available to our customers:
Legal Warranty
The legal warranty is the policy under which, in accordance with current legislation, Orbea offers the minimum mandatory warranty period established in the user’s country.
However, at Orbea we reinforce our commitment to quality and have established a minimum warranty period of three (3) years, even in countries where local legislation provides for a shorter period.
In countries where there is no legally established warranty period, Orbea offers its commercial warranty under the conditions and duration set out in this section: three (3) yeras from the original date of purchase. This commercial warranty does not extend, modify, or limit any other contractual or legal rights to which the consumer may be entitled under local laws.
In all cases, products are deemed to be compliant at the time of delivery with the applicable quality standards, fitness for purpose, and conformity with the description, in accordance with the consumer protection legislation applicable in each country.
Coverage
The warranty covers any lack of conformity of Orbea products during the legal warranty period.
It expressly includes paint, varnish, and corrosion defects on frames and rigid forks of our bicycles within the period specified above.
Orbea’s warranty is compatible with warranties offered by the manufacturers of individual components from other brands installed on our bicycles. In the event of non-conformity of such components, the user must file the claim directly with the respective manufacturer or distributor. Orbea does not guarantee that the coverage conditions of other manufacturers are identical to those of our warranty.
Terms and Conditions
The user must provide Orbea or the distributor with the purchase invoice for the bicycle.
The product must be kept in good condition, following the instructions in the user manual and the manuals published on Orbea’s website. Claims may be rejected if poor maintenance is evident.
The warranty does not cover normal wear of consumable parts, including but not limited to:
- Handlebar tape, grips, and saddle covers.
- Seals, gaskets, dust covers, threads, screws, and rubber parts.
- Cups, bearings, spokes, nipples, cogs, and freehubs.
- Brake pads, rotors, and brake hoods.
- Cables, housings, and brake or gear fluids.
- Shock absorber joints.
- Batteries and electrical components on electric bicycles (covers manufacturing defects but not the gradual loss of capacity resulting from normal use, age, or charge cycles).
Given the nature of bicycle use, on the road or in the mountains, this warranty is limited exclusively to the repair or replacement of non-conforming components. The warranty does not cover personal injury or property damage that may result, directly or indirectly, from component failure during use. Likewise, the warranty becomes void in the event of a traffic accident, regardless of its cause.
Coverage is excluded in cases of unauthorized modification or tampering with electrical components.
Procedure
The user should preferably go to the point of sale where the bicycle was purchased. If this is not possible, they may contact another authorized Orbea dealer or contact the brand directly for instructions. The purchase invoice must be provided.
Acceptance of the warranty is subject to Orbea’s technical assessment of the nature of the nonconformity.
In case of replacement, Orbea will supply a product with similar characteristics or, if not possible, one of equal or superior quality and performance. For personalized bicycles from the MyO range, replacement may be made with equivalent models from the available color range.
Customers may also file claims through the online consumer dispute resolution platform applicable in their EU country.
